The International Piano Duo Association organizes an International Piano Duo Competition with separate Composition and Performance divisions, with the aim of advancing the art of piano duo from both creative and expressive perspectives.
By fostering the creation of new works and discovering outstanding performers, the Association seeks to expand the possibilities of piano duo music and to cultivate individuals who will carry forward the musical culture of the next generation.
As a place where composers, performers, and audiences resonate together, we warmly welcome wide participation.

Composition Division

Composition Division

The Composition Division of the competition is held with the aim of fostering new forms of musical expression and discovering outstanding works.
Compositions for one piano four hands and two pianos are invited and will be evaluated from multiple perspectives, including creativity, structural coherence, and effectiveness in performance.

Performance Division

Performance Division

The Performance Division of the competition provides a forum for pursuing the art of ensemble, in which two pianists unite to create music as one.
Through performances for one piano four hands and two pianos, participants are evaluated not only on technical skill and expressive ability, but also on the beauty of shared breathing, communication, and musical dialogue.
